About the Role
We are seeking a switchgear application engineer to oversee the procurement of switchgear for turn-key and procurement only electrical projects. This role combines technical expertise in LV electrical distribution equipment with strong project management in a dynamic environment.  You will collaborate with engineering, project managers, construction managers, and customers to ensure accurate BOMs, seamless delivery, and successful project execution for end‑of‑life replacement programs.
Pay: $90,000 - $ 130,000
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of LV electrical distribution equipment (panelboards, switchboards, dry‑type transformers, ECBs, fused disconnects, etc.)
  • Proficiency with OEM configuration tools (Empower, BidMan, Compass SE Advantage)
  • Experience with project management and warehouse management systems (WMS) software
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Exceptional communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in Square D equipment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • Hands‑on installation experience and background working with electrical contractors
  • Electrical certifications (Journeyman, Master Electrician, NETA, etc.)
  • EC/GC License
Location
  • On site preferred – Cumming, GA

Travel Requirements
  • 1 – 2 times per month for site visits to confirm BOM and installation requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead procurement scope of work for turnkey projects and electrical upgrades
  • Configure and quote switchgear packages (interior and exterior) based on 60%, 90%, and 100% engineering drawings
  • Develop and finalize Bills of Material (BOM) and submittals to support sales, estimating, and engineering teams
  • Provide technical expertise on LV switchgear design, site plans, and design implications for project profitability
  • Conduct site walks to validate BOMs and plan procurement and construction strategies
  • Lead procurement take‑off meetings, order equipment, and manage operational dates in construction/project management software
  • Communicate project status updates to accounting, operations, and customers
  • Manage equipment delivery schedules, support change orders, and provide post‑delivery support
  • Collaborate with installation teams to resolve on‑site technical questions and procure punch‑list items
