Job Title: Chemist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Chemist to join our laboratory team, where you will be responsible for testing raw materials and finished pharmaceutical and biological products. You will employ established test procedures and utilize analytical instrumentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing of raw materials and finished products using analytical instrumentation.
  • Utilize Computer Data Acquisition Systems (CDAS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for data management.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), CGMPs, Company Quality Standards, and FDA/EU Guidelines.
  • Adhere to testing schedules to maintain high productivity without compromising result integrity.
  • Communicate effectively with lead analysts and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, and other analytical techniques.
  • Accurate documentation and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong background in chemistry, analytical chemistry, and laboratory procedures.
  • Experience with titration, pipetting, and liquid chromatography.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in an analytical chemistry testing laboratory performing wet chemistry testing and instrumentation including HPLC, GC, AA, and UV/Vis.
  • Familiarity with Word and Excel; operational experience with Water’s Empower data acquisition preferred.
  • Knowledge of US and European pharmacopeia is preferred.
  • A 4-year degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with two or more years of analytical chemistry laboratory experience is required.
  • Preference for applicants with a BS in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
  • Knowledge of human error awareness and prevention, as well as investigation and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

The role is based in a FDA/USDA/EU regulated lab environment with approximately 30 team members. The lab is divided into three areas: Raw Material Testing, Biological Testing, and Pharmaceutical Testing. As a quality control lab, you will be involved in ensuring the quality of incoming raw materials and finished products from manufacturing. The role may involve quick shifts in focus to meet turnaround times and deadlines, requiring flexibility and adaptability. The work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. The lab culture is supportive, and offers a positive environment with opportunities for growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
