JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary:
This position exists to provide direct customer service to students, parents, guests, faculty, and staff who interact with the Colorado Mesa University IRIS Department. As an IRIS Solution Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting customers at the front desk, answering phone calls, and responding to emails. The IRIS department serves all student enrollment needs, including registration, financial aid, student accounts, billing, and student records. The Solution Specialist is required to promote a welcoming environment where students can ask questions and get support to encourage student success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fulfill IRIS office operations. This includes, but is not limited to, answering/directing phone calls, responding to emails, staffing the front desk, keeping detailed records, booking appointments, and other projects as assigned
  • Communicate with students, parents, guests, and other staff to assist with student needs
  • Contact students to provide vital information during various outreach campaigns
  • Utilize Colorado Mesa University website to provide information to students
  • IRIS works collaboratively with many departments; therefore, candidates must be willing to work cooperatively to find answers and solutions in a timely manner
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude at all times

Qualifications:
  • Applicant eligible for Work Study or Mavworks funding is preferred.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and being part of a team
  • This position handles sensitive student information and candidates must be able to maintain confidentiality with integrity
  • Solution Specialists must maintain a GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 5 hours a week
  • Must be open to traveling between Main Campus & CMU Tech
