Job Description
General Summary:
The IM Program Manager - Applications Sr., is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the software and application portfolio supporting a new community hospital and outpatient clinic in Downers Grove, IL, from early planning through go-live and transition to operations. They will be accountable for Epic and all other applications timeline and budget through design, build, configuration, integration, testing, and activation of the full application ecosystem. The role will manage multiple application project managers to ensure clinical and operational workflows are fully enabled at activation.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery, planning, design, build, configuration, integration, testing, activation, and transition-to-operations of the hospital's full software and application portfolio, with Epic as the core platform. This includes setting up day in the life and command center support events.
  • Manage multiple application project managers across discrete application domains, setting priorities, developing the team, removing roadblocks, and driving decisions in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Establish and manage the application program plan, schedule, dependencies, and risks, integrated with the overall hospital build and activation timeline.
  • Own Epic build and configuration (ambulatory, inpatient, and ancillary modules) and the integrations and interfaces between Epic and all upstream and downstream software systems.
  • Ensure clinical and operational workflows are captured, validated, and reflected in application design and configuration, partnering with clinical, operational, and ancillary department stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Infrastructure Program Manager, operational program leads, application leadership, and overall project leadership to sequence application deployment and go-live against infrastructure, device, network, and location-services readiness.
  • Develop and manage application budgets, licensing, capital plans, vendor estimates, and ROI and trade-off analysis from conceptual design through final design.
  • Lead vendor strategy and selection processes for any new technologies related to the Downers Grove project. Inclusive of but not limited to virtual care technology and real time location services (RTLS).
  • Represent applications in hospital build governance and executive readiness forums, provide regular status, financial, and risk reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Health and IM leadership, and proactively escalate risks and decisions with clear options and recommendations.
  • Other job functions as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Certification/Licensure/Registration: Project management certification preferred; Epic certification(s) preferred.
  • System Experience: Epic experience required, preferred knowledge in unified communication tools, RTLS, PACS, LIS, PIS, and other hospital systems.
  • Experience: 10 years' experience in project management, healthcare, or application/software delivery, including large-scale Epic or clinical application implementations.
  • Computer Skills: Fluency in project management tools; proficient across the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Other Skills Required: Skills in program and project management, application and integration design, clinical and operational workflow, and software delivery for new facility design and activation, large project implementation.

$117,520.00-$193,918.40 Salary
