GA DHS - GA@WORK (Workday) Project Manager
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid Onsite/Remote)
[About the Role]
Join the Georgia Department of Human Services as a Workday Project Manager and lead a high-impact Workday Financials and Procurement transformation. You will drive full lifecycle implementation and optimization, partnering with senior finance, procurement, and IT leaders. This is a hybrid role based in Atlanta, GA, offering the chance to influence statewide modernization, collaborate with executive stakeholders, and gain exposure to large-scale ERP initiatives in the public sector.
[Responsibilities]
- Lead and manage Workday Financial Management and Procurement projects of moderate to high complexity, from planning through deployment and stabilization.
- Direct full project lifecycle activities: requirements gathering, configuration tracking, data conversion, integration oversight, end-to-end testing, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.
- Align Workday system design with business processes, accounting policies, purchasing workflows, approval hierarchies, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Finance, Procurement, IT, Workday implementation partners, integration teams, and third-party vendors.
- Facilitate business process redesign for Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Record-to-Report (R2R), supplier onboarding, spend controls, and financial reporting.
- Monitor and report project milestones, risks, data validation checkpoints, and integration readiness.
- Maintain effective communication with Finance and Procurement leadership, auditors, and PMO stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing leadership to the project team, run status meetings, assess scope changes, and recommend actions to project sponsors.
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or specialized training.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- 5+ years' experience leading moderate to high complexity projects in the past 7 years.
- 3+ years' hands-on experience with server-based application projects in the past 5 years.
- 3+ years' direct experience with Workday Financials modules.
- Strong expertise with MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint, MS O365, and MS Teams.
- In-depth understanding of accounting, procurement, ERP integrations, and financial reporting structures.
- Demonstrated finance process optimization and strategic sourcing knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

- Recent leadership of vendor-managed projects.
- Experience working with state government or public sector entities.
- Hands-on familiarity with Workday Financial Management and Procurement Management modules.
