Uniti Group Inc. is a premier insurgent fiber provider dedicated to enabling mission-critical connectivity across the United States. The Senior Applications Programmer will improve user experience and data integrity through the development and maintenance of the NOC Portal and its supporting tools.
Responsibilities:

โ€ข Development Knowledge: Exposure to a variety of technologies such as multi-tiered web applications, relational and cloud databases, LDAP and directory services, application servers, network infrastructure, and understanding security and dataflow within these components.
โ€ข System Development: Participate in the architecture, configuration, development, deployment, integration, testing, and maintenance of NOC Portal systems.
โ€ข Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
โ€ข System Improvement: Identify areas for modification in current NOC Portal systems and develop these improvements.
โ€ข Code Development: Write high-quality code to complete features on schedule.
โ€ข Operational Evaluation: Assess the operational practicality of applications.
โ€ข System Monitoring: Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues on supported NOC Portal systems to ensure 24x7 availability.
โ€ข SDLC Compliance: Follow Software Development Lifecycle processes and tools.
โ€ข Agile Practices: Apply agile practices and principles to maximize business value and continuously improve customer outcomes.
โ€ข Research: Participate in researching and identifying new and emerging technologies to enhance NOC Portal processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Extensive experience in PHP language.
โ€ข College degree in a technical or related field or at least 8 years of work experience in a structured development environment.
โ€ข Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment.
โ€ข Familiarity with agile practices and management tools such as Azure Dev Ops, build/deployment YAML pipelines, and other Azure Tools.
โ€ข Experience with code management, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
โ€ข Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot for code generation, debugging, and codebase analysis to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
โ€ข Experience developing web applications in PHP and related technologies.
โ€ข Strong programming skills in Python, including experience with Python libraries and frameworks.
โ€ข Proficient in writing and debugging shell scripts for scripting, automation, and ETL processes.
โ€ข Experience scheduling and managing cron job tasks.
โ€ข Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: RESTful API principles, API Access Concepts (including REST, SSO, LDAP, OAuth2, etc.).
โ€ข Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML.
โ€ข Proficiency in Linux command line operations, system administration, and environment setup.
โ€ข Familiar with web application server technologies (e.g. Apache HTTPD, IIS, or Tomcat).
โ€ข Knowledge of Azure cloud services and infrastructure.
โ€ข Experience with RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) installation, configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
โ€ข Experience with containerization using Docker, including Docker images, containers, and orchestration.
โ€ข Experience with MySQL/MariaDB database design, querying, and administration.
