Job Summary:
RIT Solutions, Inc. is seeking a SolarWinds Monitoring Engineer to support a large distributed SolarWinds environment. The role involves maintaining the Application Performance Monitoring solution, executing ServiceNow SolarWinds tickets, and creating documentation for application customers.
Responsibilities:
• Implement best in class engineering strategies to support a large distributed SolarWinds environment.
• Maintain responsibility for supporting the Application Performance Monitoring solution via SolarWinds.
• Execute the daily activities of ServiceNow SolarWinds tickets e.g., add/remove, maintenance mode, discovery, custom properties etc. for Application/Hardware Performance Monitoring efforts.
• Create documentation of all steps and training for application customer and enable integration of SolarWinds process SolarWinds tickets, development of single pane of glass dashboards, including integration with ServiceNow ITSM.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 1 to 2+ years of experience with SolarWinds, processing SolarWinds Tickets, installing agents, SNMP/WMI polling, APIs, performance monitoring tool alerts, dashboards, and data trend analysis in a monitoring tool
• Experience with maintaining SolarWinds processes
• Experience in data engineering with SolarWinds for both ingestion and extraction for custom properties
• Experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) ITSM. Execute on data calls for reporting.
• Experience with Windows and Linux Operating systems, services, daemons, containers, and VMs
• Experience with troubleshooting and identifying SNMP/WMI polling issues
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• HS diploma or GED and 13+ years of relevant professional experience or BA or BS degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline with 5+ years of relevant professional experience
Preferred:
• Experience with Agile frameworks
• Experience with the VA
• Experience with ServiceNow Visual Task Boards and service ticket management
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Public Trust clearance
