Job description

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Material Handler (2nd Shift) - Packaging at our Reno, NV facility! The hourly rate for this position is $22.73 + .50 shift differential per hour.
The core hours are 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

What you'll do:
  • Operate a forklift to move raw materials, components, supplies & finished goods
  • Load and unload trailers as required
  • Pick and pull stock for delivery
  • Organize pallet area in the backyard on regular basis
  • Organize material storage location in backyard and inside the building on a regular basis
  • Complete forklift inspection on a daily basis
  • Primary owner for recycling duties for assigned area (i.e., emptying cardboard bins to the cardboard baler on a daily basis, operating cardboard baler, etc.)
  • Ability to work overtime with little to no notice as necessary for customer requirements.
  • Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
  • Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Reno, NV (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
  • A minimum 6 months of previous forklift experience or material handling experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
  • Must possess a valid and current driver's license.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
  • Able to regularly lift 35 pounds with or without reasonable assistance. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with or without reasonable assistance.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.

Position Success Criteria:
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends with little advanced notice.
