As an Application Development Specialist - CASE (ADS), you will provide technical services to Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers industry customers for the purpose of sales growth; the ADS will promote distinction between Univar Solutions and our competitors by using a technical consultative approach to needs-based evaluations of the technology utilized by customers.
The ADS builds profitable sales, employing a consultative approach, develops and maintains a long-term partnership with customers by using industry expertise.
What you'll do:
Internal activities:
  • Provide product and industry training to all Sales and Sales support teams.
  • Create, lead, and provide excipient technical product and application training for internal and external teams.
  • Assist with Supplier/Customer contract negotiations.
  • Support all aspects of developing business opportunities, targets, and prospecting.
  • Participate in tradeshows (national & local), industry conferences/meetings, website info, and literature development.

Customer Activities:
  • Assist customer with CASE application/formulation support
  • Provide technical support at all levels of customer as necessary
  • Coordinate supplier meetings at key/target customers
  • Review opportunities, coordinates efforts to close with local sales organization
  • Joint calls with Univar Sales and Suppliers at customers
  • Assist in Business Development: > Develop technical proposals > Generate product/service application solutions
  • Identify new service/product opportunities through monitoring industry/market changes and customer needs
  • Provide training and presentations
  • Fully understand local markets/trends and products for customers

Supplier Activities:
  • Manage communication with supplier technical resources
  • Collaborate on products and service solutions
  • Attend product training / continual education / updates
  • Assist with new product launches
  • Assist in qualifications of potential new suppliers/products
  • Provide feedback on technical aspects, intelligence and marketplace

What you'll need:
  • Four-year college degree (Science or Chemistry preferred)
  • Successful experience with a technical product concentration in the CASE industry.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience dealing with customers at multiple levels, both internal and external, and supplier partners.
  • Ability to travel (50-60%)
  • Clean driver's license

Pay & Benefits:
The salary range for this role is USD 98,870 - USD 123,580. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be motivated by a variety of factors including the candidate's proven experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay. Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental. We also provide 401k matching for retirement and paid time off.
