PROJECT ENGINEER I
POSITION SUMMARY
Spicer Group is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Development amp; Buildings Group in our Dawsonville, Georgia office. This Project Engineer will be responsible for planning and designing private/public site development projects. This role involves various aspects of civil design that can include but are not limited to residential and commercial site developments, stormwater management design, construction drawings and cost estimating.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducting site investigations and surveys to assess preliminary design needs and constraints
  • Produce civil design plans and specifications for residential and commercial land development projects
  • Prepare civil engineering design calculations, high-level technical designs, and drainage reports
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and engineers to ensure project success
  • Work closely with Project Managers on project progress, schedule and budget to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians
  • Meet with city, county, and state regulatory or reviewing authorities to identify appropriate design criteria and limitations
  • Attend client and project meetings
  • Assist Project Managers with generating project proposals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Designation
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in site development engineering
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Bluebeam (or Adobe), and other relevant software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of grading and stormwater management principles and practices
