Summary

The Construction & Development Agency of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is partnering with the Cornell Baker Real Estate Program for Fall 2026.

The centerpiece of that option is an Immersion class in which teams of students, two to five in size, will work in local company or government offices on actual projects. Students will earn course credit towards completion of the Baker MPS; they will not be paid. The Immersion class also has a faculty instructor who will meet with each team on a regular basis.

The Immersion class is offered during fall semester and requires that students devote at least 16 hours per week to the class over the 15-week term, of which roughly 15 hours per week must be in company offices or field work.

Responsibilities

Cornell Baker Students will be responsible for managing through an assigned project assignment.

Pursuant to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the "Commission").
