INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

Columbia Forest Products (CFP) is committed to providing an experiential education experience that integrates knowledge and theory learning in the classroom with practical application and skill development in the CFP community. Internships give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and makes connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths; and give CFP the opportunity to guide and evaluate talent.

CHARACTERISTICS FOR A CFP INTERNSHIP:

  • Duration of internship will be estimated 1 week up to 5+ weeks depending on project assignment.
  • Generally, a one-time experience
  • Paid, Part Time 16 hours up to 40+ hours per week.
  • Educational program, providing careful monitoring and evaluation for academic credit.
  • Intentional Learning agenda structured into learning experience.
  • Learning objectives – learning objectives, observation, reflection, evaluation, and assessment
  • Efforts will be made to establish a reasonable balance between the intern’s learning goals and the specific work CFP assigns.
  • CFP’s goal is to promote academic, career and personal development.

INTERN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate current manufacturing operations
  • Suggest improvements in operations materials and methods
  • Create standard work for operations
  • Plan and present project outcomes to leadership team

INTERN’S LEARNING OUTCOMES /ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
