Application Development Engineers are professionals who design, develop, test, and maintain software applications for various platforms. They work closely with clients or stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional applications. Their responsibilities often include coding, debugging, optimizing software performance, and ensuring that applications meet user needs and technical standards. Additionally, they may be involved in troubleshooting, updating existing applications, and collaborating with other IT professionals to deliver robust solutions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an application development engineer?

To thrive as an Application Development Engineer, you need strong programming skills, a solid understanding of software development methodologies, and typically a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Experience with tools such as integrated development environments (IDEs), source control systems like Git, and familiarity with frameworks and cloud platforms is crucial. Excellent problem-solving abilities, collaboration, and effective communication set top performers apart in this role. Supplier Alignment and Market Intelligence
  • Maintain strong working relationships with Qualcomm sales, technical, and business development organizations.
  • Communicate market feedback to both Arrow and Qualcomm leadership.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify emerging areas of opportunity.
  • Recommend strategic actions that improve Arrow's ability to grow Qualcomm-related business.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong consultative selling and opportunity development capabilities.

  • Proven ability to drive execution through influence rather than direct authority.

Technical Competencies
  • Working knowledge of embedded application processors and system-level architectures.
  • Experience supporting customers developing embedded or edge computing solutions.
  • Ability to participate in technical discussions with engineering teams and solution architects.
  • Understanding of operating systems, software ecosystems, wireless connectivity, AI at the edge, and embedded hardware platforms.
