The Lafayette School Corporation (LSC) is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Paraprofessional to join the Little Bronchos Preschool team. This full-time position provides direct instructional and classroom support to preschool students while working collaboratively with teachers to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
Little Bronchos Preschool is committed to preparing young learners for kindergarten through developmentally appropriate instruction, meaningful relationships, and high-quality early childhood experiences. The successful candidate will enjoy working with young children, supporting their academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth, and contributing to a collaborative preschool team.
About Little Bronchos Preschool
Little Bronchos Preschool provides high-quality early childhood education that emphasizes learning through play, exploration, and purposeful instruction. Our classrooms foster curiosity, independence, communication, and school readiness while building positive relationships with students and families.
As part of the Lafayette School Corporation, Little Bronchos staff work together to ensure every child receives a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning experience.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Little Bronchos Preschool Paraprofessionals work directly under the supervision of Little Bronchos Coordinator. All paraprofessionals are responsible to ensure the safety and instruction of students across all activities and locations. Also, paraprofessionals are responsible to maintain complete confidentiality about students and their records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist with student arrival, dismissal, transportation, and transitions throughout the school day.
  • Support individual students and small groups using developmentally appropriate instructional activities.
  • Assist students with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living while following universal precautions.
  • Implement instructional activities and interventions developed by classroom teachers and related service providers.
  • Assist with behavior management using consistent classroom expectations and positive support strategies.
  • Support students in classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, community settings, and other instructional environments.
  • Prepare classroom materials, learning centers, bulletin boards, and individualized instructional resources.
  • Observe and document student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
  • Maintain attendance records and other required classroom documentation.
  • Assist with classroom organization, supplies, equipment, and assistive technology.
  • Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and IEP meetings as requested.
  • Meet all CCDF and Paths to Quality staff requirements.
  • Substitute at other preschool program sites when needed.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Little Bronchos Coordinator or Director of Early Childhood Education.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet LSC Highly Qualified Paraprofessional requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively with preschool-aged children.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students and staff.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Completion of 20 hours of Early Childhood Education training.
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children.
