What does a successful Senior Cobol Developer do at Fiserv?

A successful Sr Application Developer in the Fiserv Output Services area enables our customers to contact their customers through digital and printed communication channels. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a dynamic fast paced environment where his/her application development skills contribute directly to customer satisfaction and revenue growth for Fiserv.

What you will do:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to meeting the needs of our clients by committing to on-time quality deliveries

  • Provide resolution of any customer impacting incidents in a timely manner

  • Thrive in a team environment

  • Mentor others to help develop their skills

What you will need to have:

  • 8+ years of experience in Mainframe Cobol development

  • Knowledge of mainframe architecture including JES, VSAM files, and Batch processing

  • Experience with mainframe tools TSO, JCL, CA7

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

  • Champion the adoption and integration of AI-assisted engineering workflows demonstrating measurable impact on quality and throughput.

  • Evaluate, pilot, and operationalize AI developer tools across the organization, coaching teams to integrate them into their daily workflows.

  • Deliver technical training, workshops, and enablement sessions on AI adoption and emerging AI-assisted practices.

  • Knowledge of transmission software; such as Connect Direct or NDM

  • Certificate or formal training in mainframe development technologies

  • Experience in the financial services industry
