Application Developer
Hybrid in Lenexa, KS

Join us in shaping a healthier future for kids. At Childrenโ€™s Hospital Association, we unite more than 200 member hospitals to put children firstโ€”advancing care, informing policy, and driving progress together.
Where Youโ€™ll Work
This position is based in our Lenexa, Kansas office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.
What Youโ€™ll Do
The Application Developer will create, develop, and modify general computer applications, interfaces, and specialized utility programs. With a strong background in research, design, development, and testing of code, they will analyze user needs and develop appropriate software solutions that will enhance the user experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, CHA business units, and Project Management Office to design and develop application systems and programs.
  • Contribute to project management, architecture, and design processes.
  • Work within change control guidelines for production implementations.
  • Test and revise each solution, including user acceptance testing, to ensure performance and efficiency standards are met.
  • Build deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps for services and projects.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of development systems used by the Web and Development groups, including relationships with external support organizations.
  • Assist with end-user support of foundational systems; troubleshoot and resolve production application errors while adhering to IT change processes.
  • Design and propose database objects based on the organizationโ€™s data policy.
  • Design, implement, and support reporting systems.
  • Document solutions in accordance with development standards and procedures as outlined by the Software Development Life Cycle.
What Youโ€™ll Bring to CHA
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree (preferably in Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience programming in a team environment.
  • Ability to provide end-user training on both 3rd party and in-house developed applications.
  • Strong understanding of the .NET architecture (up to and including .NET 10.0).
  • .NET (C#/ ASP.NET), REST, JSON, JavaScript, .NET Framework.
  • Experience with ORMโ€™s, like Entity Framework or Dapper.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle methods and client/server architecture in an enterprise environment.
  • CRM (Salesforce) development and support experience.

What Sets You Apart
Preferred qualifications:
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Azure methodologies like ACA (Azure Container Application), Kubernetes, Azure Functions, GRPC services.
  • Experience utilizing and building Azure DevOps or another automated deployment system.
  • Experience utilizing source control system (Azure DevOps/Git).
  • Experience with Docker, containerization.
  • Experience with Single Sign-On (Okta/Auth0).
  • Next.js/ React experience.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, SQL, T-SQL, MVC.
  • Development experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Snowflake.
  • Experience creating effective database design and implementation.
