Job description

Bodine Electric Company is looking for an Associate Application Engineer to join our team in Northfield, Illinois. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, solving technical problems, and collaborating with engineering and sales teams to deliver the right solutions.

As an Associate Application Engineer, you'll be a key technical resource supporting our Customer Service team, distributors, sales representatives, and OEM customers while helping drive new business opportunities and supporting existing custom products.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical support for Bodine motors, gearmotors, and controls
  • Recommend product solutions for customer applications
  • Assist Customer Service with technical questions and product returns (RMA)
  • Prepare proposals and support new OEM and distributor opportunities
  • Coordinate product samples and first-time orders
  • Manage engineering design change requests and coordinate implementation with Design Engineering
  • Support product updates and communicate design changes across internal teams
  • Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Planning to ensure customer success

What We're Looking For

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field (Bachelor's degree is a plus)
  • 2+ years of experience in application engineering, technical support, sales engineering, or technical product management
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • ERP system experience preferred
  • Experience with SolidWorks is a plus
