Encore at Parkside is currently hiring a Lifestyles Assistant. This is a part-Time position days and evenings with weekend availability

The Lifestyles Assistant is Responsible for assisting the Lifestyles Director in planning, scheduling and coordinating meaningful activities appropriate to the needs and interests of residents and conducive to their physical, mental and social well-being. Help to ensure the activity programs are appropriately presented by staff. Must be comfortable driving a large shuttle. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·       Assist the Director of Life Enrichment with planning, scheduling, and coordinating all resident activities including special events following the Life Enrichment programs (Lifestyles and Health Services, Embrace the World, and Ambassador on a monthly basis. Ensure active facilitation and successful implementation Service Programs.

·       Assist in the planning and coordination of a balanced program of spiritual, emotional, intellectual, vocational, social, physical, health services, and environmental activities with the intent of including all residents in some area of lifestyle activity.

·       Promote a healthy community culture for all residents and employees. This is a whole-person approach to health and wellness which includes eight dimensions of wellness: Emotional, Environmental, Health Services, Intellectual, Physical, Social, Spiritual and Vocational. Ensure and exceed residents’ wellness needs relating to their mind, body and soul, which may also have a positive effect on the employees, as a result.

·       Provide individual and group educational opportunities for residents and staff in the area of disease prevention and management in the holistic spirit of the Lifestyle and Health Services Wellness Program.

·       Assist in tracking of activity participation for all Healthcare, Assisted Living, and Memory Care residents.

·       Assist in communicating information to the Health and Wellness department regarding activity ability changes in status that may require resident Care Plan updates.

·       Lead daily resident activities per our community standards.

·       Assist in gathering each resident’s interests through the Social Spiritual History Assessment for planning person-centered approach activities.

·       Assist with preparing and distributing monthly calendars according to the Community standards.

·       Assist with gathering information, articles, and photos for newsletter

·       Assist with preparation and distribution of weekly program contents.

·       Assist the Director in maintaining an adequate supply of adult activity materials.

·       Assist the Director in training all staff on activity-related programs.

·       May be responsible for transporting and/or accompanying residents to regular and special recreational outings.

·       Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED required

• Associate’s degree preferred

• Six (6) months experience working with seniors in activities/life enrichment preferred LICENSE/CERTIFICATION OR OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess current and valid driver’s license consistent with the requirements determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed

• Must possess personal driving record consistent with the requirements of the Driver Selection Policy

• Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease, if applicable to your state

• Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language

• Must be artistically creative, motivational, and energetic with a passion for serving others

• Must possess patience and sensitivity to others’ needs; ability to work with community groups; willingness to work beyond normal working hours

• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and/or Adobe Reader

• Familiarity with required electronics, including but not limited to iPads, tablets, smart TV’s and digital cameras

• Familiarity with social media preferred

• Good communication skills (oral and written)

• Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills
