Job Summary
 Ralph's is hiring an experienced, certified Appliance Service Technician to join our service team. You will be the face of our store in our customers' homes, installing, maintaining, and repairing appliances with the quality and care our name is built on. You also help grow the business by spotting opportunities for additional work. Exemplifying our code of values, you show respect and courtesy to all customers and employees.
 
What You'll Do
  • Install home appliances and equipment
  • Accurately diagnose and repair appliances in the customer's home, including refrigerators, ranges, cooktops, wall ovens, dishwashers, washers, and dryers
  • Complete both warranty and non-warranty service calls, documenting findings, parts, and labor accurately
  • Provide cost estimates for repairs and installations, and collect payment or payment information for work performed
  • Order and track parts, then follow up with customers to schedule return visits
  • Keep your service vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked
  • Follow all safety procedures for electrical, gas, and refrigerant work
  • Cross-train and help out in related positions as needed
 
What You Bring
  • Current appliance technician certification is required (NASTeC, PSA/UASA, EPA Section 608, or manufacturer factory certification)
  • Proven hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing major household appliances
  • You live in or can commute daily to the Tiffin or Findlay, Ohio area
  • A professional, courteous presence in customers' homes
  • Your own basic set of hand tools
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Comfortable using tablet-based technology
 
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally without assistance, and the physical ability to perform strenuous work under varied circumstances
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear
