Join us, the team that serves as Apple's nerve center: Apple Information Systems and Technology group! We are looking for a Software Engineer - AML - Ai & Data Platforms, who will work closely with other Software Engineers, Project & Product Managers, Product Designers, and other internal & external partners.
AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) is IS&T's engine for AI-powered innovation. The team brings together data, application development, and machine learning - including generative AI - along with data services and customer success functions, to help IS&T build solutions more efficiently and streamline the adoption and embedding of generative AI across Apple.
When you join IS&T, you'll help design and manage systems, frameworks, and apps that countless Apple customers and employees rely on every day. Together, we'll explore all the ways to improve how Apple operates, freeing our employees to do what they do best, and crafting magical experiences for our customers.
Description
As part of the ACM Platform team, you will design, develop, and operate high-throughput, low-latency distributed services that support more than 1,500 internal users across Apple. You will work closely with engineering, product, fraud analysts, and business partners to build scalable platform capabilities that improve fraud detection and case management.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional work experience.
2+ years of software engineering experience developing backend or distributed systems.
Strong Java development experience, preferably with modern JDK versions
Hands on coding experience with Python
Good understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, scalability, reliability, and fault-tolerant design.
Hands-on experience with some combination of Kafka, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Solr, Cassandra, or similar distributed technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing cloud-native applications and working with Kubernetes.
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform performance analysis and optimization.
Familiarity with AI concepts, LLM-based development tools, or AI-assisted software engineering is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently deliver well-defined technical projects.
Good communication and collaboration skills across engineering and cross-functional teams.
Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership of components and features from design through production.
