Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payments Product Owner / Payments Lead to drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution of payment solutions across Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) eCommerce platforms.

This is a high-impact role responsible for delivering seamless, secure, and optimized payment experiences while ensuring compliance, fraud prevention, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate brings strong product management experience in payments/fintech, deep technical understanding of payment ecosystems, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally across IT, Finance, Compliance, and Customer Experience teams.


Key ResponsibilitiesPayments Strategy & Roadmap
  • Define and maintain the payments product vision and roadmap

  • Align payment initiatives with overall business and D2C objectives

  • Identify opportunities to improve checkout conversion and reduce friction

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with Engineering, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, AR, and Customer Service teams

  • Ensure alignment on priorities, releases, and product enhancements

Payment Optimization & Performance
  • Monitor payment KPIs (authorization rates, chargebacks, fraud rates, processing costs)

  • Identify performance gaps and implement optimization strategies

  • Partner with Accounts Receivable and Consumer Services to troubleshoot payment issues

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure adherence to PCI-DSS, GDPR, and payment security standards

  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to mitigate fraud risks

Requirements & Backlog Management
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into user stories

  • Prioritize and manage product backlog

  • Work closely with development teams during implementation cycles

Market & Industry Analysis
  • Stay current on payment regulations, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape

  • Evaluate and implement new payment methods and digital wallets


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)

  • 3+ years of Product Management experience in Payments / FinTech / eCommerce

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Credit & Debit Card processing

    • ACH transactions

    • Mobile wallets (Apple Pay, etc.)

    • Fraud prevention tools

    • Payment gateways & billing systems

  • Experience implementing multiple payment methods including:

    • Visa

    • Mastercard

    • Discover

    • Amex

    • PayPal

    • Apple Pay

    • Acima

    • Affirm

  • Experience working with QuickLizard preferred

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
