The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of camera hardware for all related Apple products. Our target is to deliver superior camera hardware to enable best-in-class camera user experience. We are looking for an enthusiastic, high-energy individual who can help us with tomorrow’s challenges.
The Camera Electronics and Sensing Group, develops custom chipsets to enable world-class imaging and sensing features across Apple products, including lens stabilization, depth sensing, flicker detection, and eye tracking.
Description
In this role, you will be working with cross-functional teams including mechanical, optical, firmware, product/test and camera systems engineers to evaluate performance specifications. You will understand how complex system architectures translate to electrical and IC requirements to deliver the best and most innovative Camera technologies into our products.","responsibilities":"Work at the boundary of camera system requirements and vendor implementations to search for design issues.
Develop and execute on plans for Camera validation and debugging, and then complete data analysis to draw conclusions.
Developing software including scripts, firmware, and models for laboratory data acquisition, control systems, silicon validation, and prototyping.
Design and debug circuits and PCBs for validating, characterizing, and prototyping camera HW chipsets.
Preferred Qualifications
MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering and/or relevant industry experience.
Experience with low-level programming and debug for embedded development (C/C++) on MCU based systems.
Experience with PCB design and debug for hardware platforms containing drivers, converters, PMUs or high-speed amplifier ICs.
Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, layout and component selection.
Experience with electrical design, integration, and validation of camera and/or optical depth systems.
Minimum Qualifications
BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and a minimum of 3+ years of relevant industry experience
Experience validating electro-optical, electro-mechanical, or mixed signal systems.
Experience with design of experiments or similar process to troubleshoot or debug electrical problems.
Experience with scripting in Python and/or MATLAB
Experience with measuring electrical components using instruments in the lab.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
