Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience in endpoint management, with strong focus on Apple platforms
  • Experience with JAMF Pro administration and architecture
  • Expertise in macOS, iOS, Apple Business Manager (ABM), and device enrollment programs
  • Experience with identity integration (Azure AD/Entra ID, Okta SSO, conditional access)
  • Strong scripting/automation skills (Bash preferred)
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and endpoint compliance standards
  • Proven leadership experience guiding technical teams and driving enterprise initiatives
  • Strategic thinking with hands-on technical depth
  • Strong problem-solving and incident leadership (especially endpoint performance and user experience)
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration across infrastructure and security teams
     

Experience & Education 

  • 5-7 years experience in Information Technology Pref
  • 5-7 years experience with macOS, iOS, Apple Business Manager
  • 5-7 years experience managing desktop applications Pref
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Associate Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience Preferred

About the role:

The Lead for Apple Endpoint Management is responsible for the strategy, governance, engineering, and operational management of the GM Financial Apple ecosystem, including macOS and iOS devices, leveraging JAMF as the primary endpoint management platform. This role provides technical leadership and oversight to ensure secure, scalable, and user-centric deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of Apple devices across the enterprise.


The position partners closely with infrastructure, security, networking, and end-user computing teams to deliver a high-performance, compliant, and frictionless user experience while aligning with enterprise standards and modernization initiatives.

Platform Ownership

  • Lead design, implementation, and optimization of JAMF Pro for device management at scale
  • Lead end-to-end management of Apple enterprise platforms including Apple Business Manager (ABM), MDM (Intune), and Apple service integrations
  • Oversee automation, scripting (Bash/Python), and zero-touch deployment (DEP/ABM) strategies
  • Manage application packaging, deployment, and updates via JAMF and enterprise app catalog
  • Lead vendor management and roadmap alignment with Apple and JAMF

Device Lifecycle and Deployment

  • Drive Apple device lifecycle management (procurement, provisioning, compliance, patching, retirement)
  • Drive zero-touch deployment, provisioning, and configuration standards for Apple devices across the enterprise

Security and Compliance

  • Establish and enforce security baselines, policies, and compliance controls for macOS/iOS
  • Ensure integration with identity providers (e.g., Entra/Okta) and conditional access strategies
  • Partner with cybersecurity to integrate endpoint protection, conditional access, and compliance frameworks

Operational Excellence

  • Lead and mentor engineers and admins supporting Apple platforms
  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex Apple endpoint and JAMF-related issues
  • Collaborate with VDI, identity (Azure AD/Entra), and MDM/UEM teams for cross-platform alignment
  • Define SLAs, performance KPIs, and support models for Apple platforms
  • Drive continuous improvement in device performance, reliability, and end-user experience
  • Develop metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives for endpoint performance and user experience
