Job Title: Administrative Support Clerk - Service Center Representative
Job Code: AS0003
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Overview: The Service Center Representative/Administrative Support Clerk directly reports to the Distribution Center Manager. A Service Center Representative is responsible for all processing and expediting of special orders out of the Distribution Center. Responsibilities:
  • Enters all special orders at the Distribution Center and verifies completion of pulling, shipping and billing
  • Completes all necessary paperwork for R E Michel drivers, LTL freights, UPS shipments, and HAZMAT special orders.
  • Researches, identifies and documents shipment errors and takes steps to resolve errors in order to meet the customer's requirements.
  • Monitors special: vendor orders, branch to branch transfers, vendor back hauls.
  • Answers phones and works a multiple line phone system.
  • Enters and receives both branch and vendor purchase orders.
  • Point of contact for corporate customers.
  • Dispatches drivers and vehicles.
  • Coordinates special order pulling/shipping between branch and shipping department.
  • Schedules freight, emergency runs and customer ordered truck loads.
  • AS400 and P21 knowledge of menus for Service Center, Shipping Department, Receiving Department, Purchasing Department.
  • Job requires frequent interactions and face to face with co-workers. Duties and other tasks require employee attendance in the office.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sound organizational and math skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, plus professional phone manner.
  • Computer skills, including PC and dumb terminal.
  • Research skills for problem solving.
