Senior ML Engineer, Robotics - Special Projects

Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing AI/ML robotic systems to solve real-world problems
  • Evaluating and debugging complex AI systems
  • Integrating intricate AI systems into a larger software stack
Minimum Qualifications
  • MS/PhD in Computer Science, Math, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong software engineering background
  • Ability to break down large features and implement practical solutions
  • Experience in building complete prototypes that continuously improving the system performance
  • Familiarity with the full robotics stack (controls, perception, planning, navigation etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern ML approaches (VLMs LLMs, Diffusions, RL, etc.)
  • Proficiency using deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Swift and Apple developer tools
  • Experience in training/fine tuning multimodal foundational models
  • Experience in building RL models for robotics applications.
  • Experience in multi-view geometry, camera calibration and 3D reconstruction pipelines.
  • Experience optimizing ML models or mathematical algorithms for mobile deployment and resource-constrained environments.
Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
