Position Summary

Apache Fabricators is seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee and manage all quality assurance and quality control activities related to the fabrication of subsea equipment, skids, structural assemblies, and modular systems. The QC Manager will be responsible for ensuring all products are fabricated in compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, applicable codes, project requirements, and company quality standards.

This role requires a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of welding inspection, dimensional verification, fabrication processes, coatings, and documentation management within an industrial fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all quality control activities throughout fabrication, assembly, coating, and final inspection processes.

  • Ensure fabrication activities comply with project specifications, engineering drawings, quality procedures, and applicable industry codes and standards.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, inspection plans, and quality documentation.

  • Review customer specifications, ITPs (Inspection Test Plans), WPS/PQRs, drawings, weld maps, and project requirements.

  • Coordinate and oversee in-process and final inspections for fabricated skids, subsea equipment, modules, and structural assemblies.

  • Perform and manage dimensional inspections, fit-up inspections, welding inspections, and coating inspections.

  • Coordinate with production, engineering, project management, and customers to resolve quality concerns and non-conformance issues.

  • Generate, track, and close NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), corrective actions, and preventative actions.

  • Manage turnover packages, quality dossiers, MTRs, weld records, coating reports, inspection reports, and final QA/QC documentation.

  • Interface with customer representatives, third-party inspectors, and auditors during inspections and witness points.

  • Ensure welding activities comply with applicable procedures and standards.

  • Supervise QC Inspectors and support personnel while maintaining accountability for quality performance.

  • Monitor shop quality metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Participate in customer meetings, project kickoffs, and fabrication planning meetings as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and maintain a quality-first culture throughout operations.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of QC/QA leadership experience within fabrication, oil amp; gas, subsea, pressure-containing equipment, skid manufacturing, or modular fabrication environments.

  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes including welding, fitting, structural steel, piping systems, and coatings.

  • Experience reviewing fabrication drawings, weld procedures, quality plans, and customer specifications.

  • Knowledge of inspection methods including dimensional inspection, visual weld inspection, coating inspection, and material traceability.

  • Experience managing turnover packages and quality documentation for customer deliverables.

  • Ability to read and interpret P amp;IDs, isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, structural drawings, and engineering packages.
