$57.79 - $79.76 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

  • Position: Advanced Practice Provider (PA-C/ APRN with first assist certification) - Neurosciences
  • Location: Edward Hospital, Naperville, IL; Elmhurst Hospital, Elmhurst, IL; 3S517 Winfield Road, Warrenville, IL.
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time 40 hours/week
  • Hours: To Be Determined
  • No Weekends, No Call
  • Required Travel: Travel is required between hospital and clinic locations.
  • Hybrid role with inpatient, outpatient, and procedure lab responsibilities.

Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health in the Neurology Department. The neuro endovascular APP will work in the procedure lab alongside the neurologist performing endovascular procedures and will care for inpatient and outpatient neuro endovascular patients.

Procedures will include:

  • Diagnostic cerebral angiogram
  • MMA Embolization
  • Carotid stenting
  • Lumbar puncture
  • Lumbar drain trial
  • Tumor embolization
  • Aneurysm stenting flow diversions

Under the direction of the collaborating physician, provides care to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic and hospital setting. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions, and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Provides comprehensive health assessments, develops differential diagnoses, and prescribes treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. Promotes wellness and prevents illness and injury in various settings for individuals, families, and communities. Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as a resource and consultant. Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting a high-quality patient experience. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Supports the strategic plan of the organization. Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
  • Education: Completion of master's level program in specialty area
  • Certification: BLS/CPR certification required
  • Experience: Prior APN/PA experience in neurology or neurosurgery preferred
  • APNs must have first assist certification for this role.
