Job description

About the role

We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer Intern to join the team building Reflexive from the

ground up. You'll work alongside the Product team to shape the technical foundation, build core

product experiences, and help take Reflexive from early concepts to a working app.

This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute across system design, development, and

delivery — helping shape not just how Reflexive is built, but what we build.

What you will be doing

  • Help architect and build the technical foundation of Reflexive from the ground up.
  • Design and implement frontend and backend systems for the app.
  • Turn product concepts and UX designs into functional, high-quality experiences.
  • Build APIs, databases, integrations, and core product functionality.
  • Make technical decisions around architecture, tools, and implementation.
  • Prototype, test, debug, and ship features quickly.
  • Work closely with Product and Product/UX to explore ideas and solve problems.
  • Use AI development tools to accelerate research, prototyping, coding, and debugging.
  • Help establish engineering practices and a codebase that can scale with the product.

Experience you will need

  • Experience building software through personal projects, coursework, internships, or

previous work.

  • Strong foundation in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern application development.
  • Familiarity with frontend, backend, APIs, and databases.
  • Comfortable with Git/GitHub.
  • Comfortable learning new technologies and working independently.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or

GitHub Copilot.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Curiosity, ownership, and a bias toward building and shipping.

Nice to have

  • Experience with React Native, Expo, Next.js, Node.js, Firebase, or Supabase.
  • Experience building mobile applications.
  • Experience taking a product from idea to a working prototype.
  • Familiarity with Figma and working closely with designers.
  • Interest in wellbeing, youth, or community-focused products.

What you'll get

  • Build a product from 0 → 1 rather than maintaining an existing system.
  • Meaningful ownership over the technical foundation of Reflexive.
  • Direct collaboration with Product and Product/UX.
  • Experience making real architecture and product decisions.
  • Opportunity to ship features used by real people.
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI-assisted development.
  • A substantial product-building experience for your portfolio.
