Job description

Apptronik is a human-centered robotics company developing AI-powered robots to support humanity in every facet of life. Our flagship humanoid robot, Apollo, is built to collaborate thoughtfully with people, starting with critical industries such as manufacturing and logistics, with future applications in healthcare, the home, and beyond.
We operate at the cutting edge of embodied AI, applying our expertise across the full robotics stack to solve some of society's most important problems. You will join a team dedicated to bringing Apollo to market at scale, tackling the complex challenges like safety, commercialization, and mass production to change the world for the better.
JOB SUMMARYWe're looking for a highly motivated and talented Senior Financial Analyst with hands-on experience and a passion for robotics to join our team. Specifically, we seek a finance professional with proven capabilities in production unit economics, manufacturing cost analysis, and operations business partnering. Reporting to the Senior Manager of FP&A, you'll be embedded in our Operations org as the day-to-day finance partner - owning production unit economics, tracking OPEX and CAPEX, and keeping manufacturing decisions grounded in numbers. Over time, this role will grow into owning the full COGS picture, with a path toward leading operations finance and eventually full product economics. As Apptronik scales, so will the role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES or KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Production Unit Economics
  • Build and maintain production cost models - tracking unit costs, BoM assumptions, and cost-to-produce across production schedules
  • Own cost reporting, PPV analysis, landed cost and tariff tracking, and supplier financial performance metrics

Inventory & Balance Sheet
  • Establish inventory on the balance sheet, manage E&O reserves, and drive unit cost transitions into COGS
  • Manage the transition of R&D spend into capitalized inventory and COGS as Apollo moves into production

Operations Business Partnering
  • Own budgeting and rolling forecasts for Operations departments; deliver variance analysis with clear operational context
  • Lead manufacturing and supply chain financial reviews and perform ad hoc analysis (make vs. buy, yield economics, contract manufacturer cost reviews)
  • Ensure operations financials close accurately and on time each month
  • Build the operations finance function as Apptronik scales - establishing the processes, models, and reporting cadences that support long-range production planning

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong financial modeling skills - comfortable building and maintaining complex Excel/Sheets models
  • Hands-on experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, COGS mechanics, BoM cost rollups, PPV, or yield analysis at a hardware company
  • Thrives embedded in an operations environment - on the floor, in the reviews, not sitting in a finance pod
  • Clear communicator who can work cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders - Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing
  • Curious, organized, and accountable - you don't need to know robotics, you need to want to learn it
  • Experience with Anaplan, SAP, NetSuite, or similar ERP/planning tools preferred

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 3-6 years of experience in FP&A, operations finance, or a finance-adjacent role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to be on a production floor
  • Occasional travel to contract manufacturer sites
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
  • Hearing and speech to communicate
