Job description

Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Quality control specialist in north of Buffalo Grove IL area
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to join a growing operations team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our quality program performing hands-on inspections, maintaining rigorous documentation, and helping us uphold the standards our customers depend on.
You'll work directly inside a ISO 9001:2015-certified cleanroom controlled environment, collaborating closely with the Director of Quality, production teams, and suppliers to keep quality initiatives on track and our compliance posture strong.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of materials and products against defined specifications
  • Operate within an ISO 7 cleanroom to conduct visual inspections of products and materials
  • Maintain thorough quality records inspection reports, test results, and supporting documentation
  • Support the Director of Quality in sustaining and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Manage document control activities, including SOP revisions, work instructions, and quality record updates
  • Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials; support disposition decisions and corrective action follow-through
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements
  • Contribute to root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities
  • Ensure proper identification, labeling, and traceability of materials and components throughout the process
  • Support supplier quality activities, including verification of documentation and part specifications
  • Assist with customer and vendor audits preparation, participation, and follow-up
  • Monitor calibration status of inspection and testing equipment to ensure measurement integrity
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's or associate degree in a technical field (engineering, biology, chemistry, or related discipline) preferred
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001:2015 framework or other regulated manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with inspection tools, measurement systems, and quality documentation practices
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to documentation accuracy
  • Effective cross-functional communicator comfortable working across production, engineering, and supplier teams
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and following associated protocols
