As an API 936 Refractory Inspector, your typical day involves overseeing the installation of refractory materials, performing detailed inspections and tests, and ensuring all materials and workmanship meet industry and project specifications. You will regularly document findings, interact with construction teams, and troubleshoot technical issues to resolve any discrepancies during installations. The work is often performed at industrial facilities such as refineries or petrochemical plants, and may require working in confined spaces or at height. API Multi certified Inspector
HMT has a need for an API 510/570 certified Inspector to assist with performing inspections in accordance with current API standards and recommendations:
• Perform API 510/570 internal/external inspections per customer’s scope of work
• Maintain a positive relationship between client, facility and customer
• Properly interpret ITP’s, equipment drawings, client specifications, codes and industry standards
• Ensure that all site and HMT safety policies and procedures are being followed
Required Qualifications:
• Must have current API 510/570 Certification
• Minimum 3-year 510/570 work experience
• Must be technically competent and knowledgeable in damage mechanisms
• Must have current TWIC Card
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be competent and thorough in report writing and recommendations
• Must have good computer skills
• Must be familiar current API codes
• Must be knowledgeable in NDE processes required for inspections and repair
• Must be able to pass DISA background and Drug Screen (hair follicle)
• Must be able to pass a FIT test and perform inspections under supplied air
