Job description

Boyd Jones Construction is a Nebraska-based general contractor with offices in Omaha, Des Moines and Dallas. We build complex, meaningful projects — from mission critical facilities to education and commercial construction — and we do it with a team that takes pride in craft, relationships, and doing things the right way. With roughly 200 employees, we're big enough to take on sophisticated work and small enough that your contributions are seen.

About the Role

We're looking for an Accounting Coordinator to join our accounting team in Omaha. This is a great fit for someone early in their accounting career who wants to build real skills — not just data entry, but a genuine understanding of how financial operations work in a construction environment.

You'll work closely with the Controller, Project Accountants, and project teams to keep AP/AR running smoothly, support month-end close, and help maintain the financial records that keep our projects and company on track. It's hands-on work with room to grow.

What You'll Do

• Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, post receivables, and support day-to-day AP/AR operations

• Perform basic account reconciliations and assist with general ledger entries and month-end closing tasks

• Maintain organized financial files, receipts, and documentation to keep us audit-ready

• Prepare financial reports, spreadsheet updates, and summaries for the Controller and accounting team

• Serve as a point of contact for project teams, vendors, and customers on invoices, payments, and documentation

• Assist with vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, expense reports, and credit card reconciliation

• Support weekly check runs and ACH processing

What You Bring

• 0–2 years of accounting or administrative experience — recent graduates are welcome

• Familiarity with AP/AR concepts and basic general ledger principles

• Strong attention to detail and comfort managing multiple deadlines

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (Sage, Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar) is a plus

• Clear, professional communication with vendors, team members, and internal stakeholders

• A high level of professionalism and discretion when handling financial information

Why Boyd Jones

• A career path with real upward mobility

• Collaborative, tight-knit accounting team where you'll learn from experienced professionals

• Work that matters — our financial team directly supports the people building complex, high-impact construction projects

• A company culture grounded in Safety, Partnership, Stewardship, Continuous Improvement, and Integrity — values we actually live
