***THIS IS A TITLE 5 EXCEPTED NATIONAL GUARD POSITION***The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the security specialist for force protection and antiterrorism (FP/AT) and related physical and operations security and issues, managing assigned program areas, and implementing force protection policy, projects and studies. Advises the commander on matters of antiterrorism, oversees implementation of Air Force (AF) and Major Command (MAJCOM) policy, exercises staff program management over all antiterrorism activities, and serves as liaison with the surrounding communities, and state officials.
Serves as the authority and expert on all matters involving antiterrorism and force protection requirements, policy, procedures, and program statues. Acts as the focal point to coordinate, de-conflict and integrate various force protection procedures, and activities within the organization.
Responsible for the overall implementation, oversight, and centralized control of the coordinated force protection and antiterrorism program for the organization. Involves all measures related to physical security and operational security for all organizational facilities, arms/ammunition storage activities, and personnel.
Plans, conducts, directs the conduct of, or coordinates on security site studies, projects, assessments, and surveys of the organization in relationship to force protection and antiterrorism activates. Works with Civil Engineering (CE) to assess and sign off on all construction projects on the base to ascertain that FP/AT construction standards are met.
Represents the commander at meetings, conferences, workshops, panels, etc., at MAJCOM and other deferral agency levels as the technical authority. Serves as a member and acts as the chairperson for various boards and working groups to include the Force Protection Board and Threat Working Group.
