This role combines advanced Android and video-player engineering with analytics implementation, SDK integration, and approved AI-assisted development using Kotlin, Java, Media3, and ExoPlayer. The engineer will translate analytics requirements into production code, connect playback and user experiences to structured event data, and create reusable instrumentation and validation patterns across Android devices. Work Type: Remote

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop production-quality Android applications and video player integrations using Kotlin and Java.

  • Integrate Adobe Edge Software Development Kits (SDKs) across Android applications, shared components, and video player SDKs.

  • Translate Experience Data Model (XDM), event, payload, and sequencing requirements into maintainable Android code.

  • Implement analytics across user journeys and streaming experiences, including playback, advertising, quality, performance, buffering, latency, and errors.

  • Integrate instrumentation with Media3, ExoPlayer, RESTful APIs, telemetry services, and analytics endpoints.

  • Build reusable event models, payload structures, validation utilities, conformance tests, and automated test coverage.

  • Validate analytics events, payload accuracy, contextual data, sequencing, and delivery across supported Android devices.

  • Use approved AI-assisted engineering tools for repository analysis, development, pull requests, testing, code review support, documentation, and troubleshooting.

  • Diagnose and resolve Adobe Edge, XDM, player, event-mapping, and analytics integration issues.

  • Perform unit, integration, regression, conformance, and physical-device testing.

  • Contribute to Git workflows, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, release readiness, and technical documentation.

  • Collaborate with video platform, analytics, product, privacy, QA, and engineering teams while supporting knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.

  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and client-side integrations.

  • Experience with automated testing, device testing, debugging, and performance validation.

  • Proficiency with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred (Optional):

  • Knowledge of Media3 or ExoPlayer analytics, player events, and telemetry.

  • Experience integrating Adobe Edge SDKs.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Experience Platform and Experience Data Model (XDM).

  • Experience implementing analytics for video streaming or playback platforms.

  • Experience creating reusable event contracts, validation scripts, templates, or conformance tests.

  • Experience with AI-assisted or agentic development tools in enterprise environments.

  • Experience supporting high-traffic consumer streaming applications and observability, monitoring, or privacy-focused engineering workflows.
