Job description

Position: Anodize Plater

Westfield Electroplating Company is looking for an experienced anodize plater to join our first (7:00am-3:30pm) and second shift (3pm-11pm). Qualified candidates should possess solid knowledge of sulfuric and chromic acid anodizing techniques.

Applicant must be familiar with military standards and industry process specifications. Good verbal and written communication skills are required and the successful candidate must be self-motivated, reliable, industrious and able to work independently.

Westfield Electroplating Company (WEPCO), a growing aerospace company, was founded in 1946 and is located in the western part of Massachusetts in the city of Westfield. WEPCO is family owned and operated and currently employs 165 highly skilled platers, painters, and technicians. WEPCO is a stable non-union facility with diverse aerospace and defense finishing capabilities servicing military, government, aviation, medical and electronic industries. WEPCO has the honor of being the first company in the country to achieve the National Aerospace and Defense Contractor Accreditation Program (NADCAP) accreditation in chemical processing, a status they have proudly continuously held over the last decade.

Skills/ Requirements

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of sulfuric and chromic anodizing.
  • 1-5 years of experience
  • Must be able to use micrometers to verify thicknesses
  • Must be familiar with basic understanding of specifications.
  • A successful applicant should be competent in math, and be able to calculate surface area of normal shapes.
  • Must be able to handle delicate parts without causing damage.
  • Must understand the concepts of blue prints and drawings.
  • Have the desire and capacity to read and learn.

2nd Shift Employees are eligible for paid meal breaks and a 15% shift differential.
