Job description

About ANIME Impulse
ANIME Impulse is one of North America’s most vibrant pop culture festivals, celebrating the best of anime, gaming, cosplay, and digital creators. As part of the IMPULSE Universe family of live experiences (including K-PLAY! FEST and Collectors Expo), we’re building a merchandise ecosystem that extends fandom beyond the event — from exclusive convention drops to licensed collectibles and global retail distribution.
The Role
We’re looking for a Merchandising Coordinator to support the planning, development, and execution of ANIME Impulse’s growing merchandise portfolio.
This role sits at the center of product creation; helping move ideas from concept to shelf. You’ll coordinate with licensing partners, manufacturers, designers, fulfillment teams, and retail partners to ensure launches happen on time and at the highest quality.
You’re someone who thrives in organized chaos, understands fandom products, and enjoys turning creative ideas into real physical goods.
What You’ll Do
Product Development & Launch Coordination Support
  • Track merchandise timelines from concept, approvals, sampling, production, and launch.
  • Maintain product calendars for event drops, online releases, and retail distribution.
  • Coordinate product specs, packaging details, and asset delivery between design and manufacturing.
Licensing & IP Partner Support
  • Manage approval workflows with anime studios, game publishers, and brand licensors.
  • Track submission deadlines, revisions, and final approvals for licensed products.
  • Maintain organized records of contracts, style guides, and licensing requirements.
Vendor & Manufacturing Coordination Support
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for manufacturers and print vendors.
  • Track samples, production milestones, and shipping schedules.
  • Help troubleshoot production delays or quality issues.
Inventory & Fulfillment Operations
  • Coordinate inventory allocations across events, e-commerce, and wholesale partners.
  • Work with fulfillment teams on pick/pack timelines and product readiness.
  • Support warehouse organization and product tracking.
Distribution & Retail Support
  • Assist with onboarding external distribution partners and retailers.
  • Prepare product data sheets, pricing lists, and launch materials.
  • Track sell-through data and help identify restock opportunities.
Event Merch Execution
  • Help plan merchandise assortments for ANIME Impulse events and external distributor carried events.
  • Coordinate POS related setup needs, product shipments, and restocking.
  • Support onsite merchandising operations during show weekends.
Reporting & Organization
  • Maintain merchandising dashboards, SKU lists, and product documentation.
  • Track product performance and support post-launch reviews.
  • Ensure internal teams have accurate, up-to-date information.
Who You Are
  • Highly organized with strong project coordination skills.
  • Experience in merchandising, product operations, retail, or event production.
  • Comfortable working with multiple vendors, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
  • Passionate about anime, gaming, collectibles, or fandom merchandise.
  • Proficient with spreadsheets, project management tools, and product tracking systems.
Bonus:
  • Experience with licensed products or IP approvals.
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with convention retail operations or collectibles.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms or inventory systems.
How to Apply
Send your resume and a short cover letter explaining your experience with product coordination, merchandising, or retail operations.
Optional: Share a merchandise idea you’d love to see at ANIME Impulse or a favorite collectible you own.
Turn fandom into something fans can hold. Join ANIME Impulse. ✨
