WHAT YOU WILL DO EVERYDAY

Execute and develop strategic communications across a variety of channels (email, social media, web, print) and media (graphics, animations, videos). Bring creativity that will appeal to target audience(s). Success depends on the ability to develop creative, high quality marketing assets within set timelines and work collaboratively with Marketing team members.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of current design skills and technologies, including design principles, design software and printing techniques.
  • Work independently to proactively manage graphic needs and projects to ensure successful completion of deliverables within schedules and budgets.
  • Work independently to create statement inserts, campaign approval documents, & marketing elements documents.
  • Develop skill set to create animations and short videos
  • Assist with video & photography shoots as needed
  • Work with printer to approve select print pieces.
  • Ensure all internal/external graphics and materials abide by Ascend's brand standards set by Graphic Design Lead.
  • Brainstorm concepts and collaborate with Marketing team to create ideas and develop visual messaging that incorporates all objectives and aligns with strategic goals.
  • Support Marketing team in developing and revising materials and communications to be clear, concise and compelling in order to support key initiatives, promotional efforts and other aspects of operation.
  • Keeps forms, brochures, print advertisements and other promotional materials fresh and current with up-to-date revisions and new creative.
  • Deliver website and social media graphic content in collaboration with lead designer and digital Marketing team members.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining Ascend's marketing files and folder structure using cloud-based storage.
  • Present work and solicit feedback from Marketing team.
  • Enthusiastically participate in a team environment.
  • Read all internal publications including HUB and Possibilities.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Graphic Design, Journalism, Communications, Marketing/Public Relations, or related field is required

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of similar or related experience is required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong collaboration skills to work with various internal teams to create compelling marketing content.
  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Proficient in all Adobe Creative Suite programs (i.e. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to produce good-quality content with tight deadlines while remaining flexible and handling changing priorities.
  • Ability to self-start and exercise initiative, good judgment, creativity and diplomacy.
  • Resourceful and accountable team player and collaborator.
  • Must present a friendly, courteous and professional image to credit union members, potential field of membership companies, outside vendors and co-workers.
  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Expert level skills in all Microsoft Office programs. HTML experience a plus.
  • Must be able to use or have the ability to be trained to use related office equipment, including calculator, personal computer, Macintosh desktop publishing system, camera, laser printers and multifunction copier.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
