Job Description

An integral part of the Production & Operations Finance team, the Finance Manager helps manage Facilities Finance operations, including, budgeting, forecasting, headcount, allocations, and reporting for Operating Expense on a gross and net basis.

This role provides the unique opportunity to gain a solid understanding of NBCU operations through daily exposure/interaction with O&T operational teams in the NY, NJ, Denver, Washington DC, and Miami Facilities portfolio (including client services, building trades, engineering, hospitality, transportation, and space planning), as well as the greater NBCU finance organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of OCF and Headcount annual budgeting, LRP, quarterly forecasting, and pacing
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data, and provide regular reporting on OCF performance, variances, metrics, and trends
  • Develop and maintain relationships with facilities operators to understand business drivers and support decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement and simplification of processes and systems
  • Create ad-hoc financial reports and models to support evolving business needs
  • Perform standardized and specialized analyses; including ROI and trend analysis that provide insights into the operational risks, opportunities and general financial performance
  • Be the point of contact for resolution of financial questions with Facilities operations, FP&A, and Accounting partners  
  • Support Facilities Coordinator and Facilities team on invoicing, vendor relations, and reporting
  • Maintain up to date finance process documentation
  • Own monthly and quarterly close processes through accurate pacing updates, variance analysis, journal entries, expense accruals, allocations, and other necessary closing activities
  • Ownership and maintenance of Facilities rent/condo fee and vendor spend reporting
  • Maintain and support build out of Facilities allocation models
  • Drive P&L performance through actively monitoring and reviewing POs, invoicing, and account payables cycles
  • Partner with operations teams and participate in regular business meetings, operations analysis, and strategic projects to drive productivity

Leadership and Culture

  • Manage a team of 1 individual, providing leadership, coaching, and development opportunities, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
  • Promote a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverables
  • Develop open communication and productive work relationships with senior leadership and the broader finance and operations teams
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Finance
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite products – particularly advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of SAP and Essbase preferred

  • Exceptional financial modeling and analysis skills, with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate summarized and concise financial information to key stakeholders including operations, controllership, FP&A, and senior leadership
  • Solid leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team
  • Team Player with the ability to function in a cross functional environment and willingness to jump into projects to meet department goals
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem solve independently
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to deliver on multiple project assignments, meet tight deadlines and be effective under pressure
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of finance, operations, and senior management
  • Continuous improvement attitude, ability to seek out and implement best practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience in the Media or Facilities industry is a plus

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time. 

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
