Rockstar is on the lookout for a talented Technical Artist who possess a passion for technology and innovation. 

This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar's unique game development studio in Oakville, ON. 

WHAT WE DO
  • The Rockstar Games Technical Art team creates, maintains and enhances tools and workflows for artists across our Art, Animation, and VFX teams.  
  • We create and maintain photogrammetry tools and pipelines, and support live scan sessions.  
  • We drive innovation and efficiency in our pipelines by continuously researching and developing new technology.  
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, and support tools and pipelines in DCC and standalone contexts.  
  • Develop automated solutions for data processing.   
  • Stay informed on the latest technology and research related to the art of data pipelines and machine learning.  
  • Write clear and detailed documentation for tools and workflows. 
  • Diagnose and solve technical issues affecting artists.  
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Artist, Technical Director, Tools Programmer, or similar.  
  • Experience developing tools for DCCs like Houdini, Zbrush, Agisoft, or Metashape. 
  • Experience working through a full game production cycle or long-term project. 
  • A strong understanding of Photogrammetry workflows and software.  
  • Proficiency in Python. 
  • Experience with build systems like Jenkins, Airflow, or Celery.   
  • An understanding of a 3D asset pipeline and color management.   
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex problems. 
PLUSES

Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.

  • A degree in Computer Science or related discipline.  
  • C++ programming skills.  
  • Experience working with package management and deployment systems like Rez or PyPi.  
  • Experience with ML based photogrammetry workflows like Gaussian Splats or Nerfs.
