Job Description

The Digitization Production Assistant role is designed to handle day-to-day and long-term asset management support for the operations team working in a shared storage environment. This role will help to manage what production material is stored and/or archived, while also working with various production teams to fulfill footage requests.

Responsibilities: 

  • The Digitization Production Assistant will be responsible for helping the NBC Sports Group with digitizing the videotape, disc and film archive.  

  • Organize and enter metadata for videotapes, discs and film reels in the NBC Sports Group's physical media tracking system. 

  • Review all physical libraries to determine which assets should be digitized 

  • Prepare tapes to be sent out of house to be digitized. 

  • Assist with the editing of metadata and trimming for new digital files. 

  • Track physical media shipments coming back to the NBC Sports Group facility and prepare them to be sent out for long-term storage. 

  • Support all of NBC's production teams with footage searches, restores, EDLs, and screeners  

  • Ensure operationally that LTO/ODA assets are being updated as they move throughout the building as they're critical to our operations 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

  • BS/BA degree in a relevant TV Production or related field with equivalent work experience 

  • Minimum one (1) years of familiarity with use of Avid non-linear editing software and Avid Interplay Media asset management software 

  • Minimum one (1) years' experience supporting Windows operating environment 

  • Minimum one (1) years of prior studio/remote sports production experience 

  • Strong sports knowledge and communication skills is a must. 

  • Must be a highly motivated and determined individual who can work well independently. 

  • Prior sports experience and/or prior experience working on large sporting events as a media coordinator or logger are a plus.
