About the 180 Group

The 180 Group is a meeting and event production company that designs and produces meetings, launches, and live experiences for the pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare industries. Our clients trust us with their most important moments, and flawless execution is our standard.

We operate by a principle we call "Be the Duck": calm and composed on the surface, focused and hard-working underneath. The work is both exciting and demanding. The standard is high, and we know how to enjoy ourselves. The team is exceptional.

The Role

The Graphic Design & 3D Animation Specialist is responsible for translating creative concepts into compelling visual and multimedia work across our event portfolio. This is a creative role for someone with 3 to 5 years of professional experience who is ready to own design output from concept to delivery on live event projects.

You will work across graphic design, motion graphics, and 3D animation and environment design. You will partner closely with producers and the coaching team to deliver work that holds up on a 40-foot screen and inside strict pharmaceutical and medical brand guidelines.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based at 180 HQ in Woodbury, MN. Travel can be part of the role and can reach 33%, including domestic and occasional international destinations. This role reports to the 180 Coaching Team.

What You'll Do

Concept and Visual Development

  • Study creative briefs and translate them into clear design directions.
  • Conceptualize visuals based on event objectives, brand guidelines, and audience.
  • Develop illustrations, logos, animations, layouts, and other design assets.
  • Storyboard and script visual moments tied to the show flow.
  • Create, edit, and update PowerPoint presentations

3D Animation and Environment Design

  • Build and render 3D designs of our event general sessions (room design)
  • Build 3D designs and animations for use in live event environments.
  • Design virtual presentation environments in 3D space.
  • Produce 3D content optimized for on-screen delivery at scale.

Motion Graphics and Video

  • Create motion graphics, logo animations, and short-form video content.
  • Edit video for promotional, internal, and on-show use.
  • Develop sound and music edits where they support the visual story.

Client and Project Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for graphics on assigned projects.
  • Keep projects on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate with internal teammates and external creative vendors as needed.

Brand and Quality Control

  • Work within tight client brand and compliance guidelines, especially within pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare standards.
  • Ensure final graphics, video, animation, and layouts are visually strong and on-brand.
  • Amend designs based on internal review and client feedback.

Production and On-Site Support

  • Travel to live events as needed to support graphics and visual playback.
  • Handle live design tweaks, last-minute build needs, and on-site visual QA.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3 to 5 years of professional graphic design experience, with a portfolio that shows it.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, digital design, film, video production, communications, or a related field.
  • Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
  • Expert proficiency in a 3D platform such as Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender, Unreal, 3ds Max, or comparable.
  • Strong visual storytelling instincts. Able to make complex topics understandable to a broad audience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication. Comfortable presenting work and defending creative choices.
  • Sharp organizational and project management skills. Able to juggle multiple active projects.
  • Calm under pressure. Live event timelines are real, and they do not move.
  • Comfort with cameras, lenses, lights, and the basics of production. Able to script and storyboard for video.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 33% domestically, with occasional international travel.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as event timelines require.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and prompting. Experience using AI inside a creative workflow is a plus.
  • Alignment with the 180 values: Flawless Execution, Innovative, Trusted, Human, Stress-Free Production, Destination Workplace.

Helpful Additional Qualifications

  • Custom presentation design skills in PowerPoint and Keynote.
  • Sound design or music editing skills.
  • Web design or HTML experience.
  • iOS and/or Android App development experience.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Experience designing for large-format live event displays such as LED walls, IMAG, and projection mapping.
