This is an unpaid Volunteer / Intern position.

Job Description

Architectural responsibilities: The primary duties of the Architectural Rendering Specialist include independently evaluating, selecting and applying architectural techniques, procedures, and modifications to architectural design and construction documents. Assignments have specified objectives and require the investigation of many variables. Independently performs assignments with only general instruction, as to the results expected. 

Visualization Support: Following conception creates in entirety or assists in creating all aspects of mixed media deliverables (3D models, renderings, animations, graphic presentations) under direction of  Team Leader, making deadlines which sometimes may be on a tight schedule. Materials may be used internally or externally for marketing or operations, provide understanding of a project for client and stakeholders, and may be at any point of a project's life (from early marketing endeavors through design development and into post-occupancy.) Everyday work will include 3D modeling and working with existing 3D models, creating custom texture maps, setting up lighting and environments, setting still cameras and animated camera paths, setting up and monitoring rendering and animation frame progress, as well as post-production for both stills and animations. Some work performed may be with others on the team, while other work may be entirely your own from start to finish. 

Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture 

3 years professional or internship experience preparing design or construction documents and visualizations 

Proficient in current CAD platforms (Autodesk or Bentley 2D and BIM products) as well as 3D Studio Max, V-Ray, and Photoshop. (Other programs such as Rhino, Sketchup, Illustrator and After Effects are a plus.) 

Must know how to work well with modifier stacks, layers and materials in an efficient and streamlined manner. Must work in Photoshop in a non-destructive layering manner. 

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project) 

Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration. 

Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired, but not required. Strong written and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
