HOLOGATE is looking for a skilled and versatile Lead Technical Artist (f/d/m) to strengthen our Art & Development teams. In this role, you will work at the intersection of art and technology, ensuring animations are seamlessly integrated into our immersive XR and VR experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and further develop the Technical Animation discipline across multiple projects
  • Collaborate with artists and developers to integrate animations into gameplay and interactions
  • Drive the implementation of character and object animations in Unreal Engine
  • Own and optimize animation, rigging, and engine integration workflows
  • Troubleshoot complex animation‑related and pipeline issues
  • Continuously improve technical pipelines and workflows between Art and Development
  • Act as the technical interface between artists, programmers, and other stakeholders
  • Mentor Technical Animators and promote best practices across the team
Key Qualifications
  • Several years of professional experience as a Technical Animator or in a similar role
  • Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring team members
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5)
  • Solid understanding of animation pipelines and real‑time animation systems
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
  • Structured, solution‑oriented working style
  • Very good English skills; German is a plus
Desirables
  • Experience with XR, VR, or real‑time simulation projects
  • Experience supporting complex, multi‑platform real‑time applications
