Position Summary

The Digital Graphic Designer develops and executes customer-focused digital creative that supports Capitol Federal's marketing, brand, and business objectives. This position creates engaging, on-brand visual assets across a variety of digital channels, including websites, email marketing, digital advertising, social media, digital signage, and other digital experiences. This role combines design expertise, audience insights, and performance-driven thinking to create compelling visual communications that inspire action. They leverage available data, knowledge, industry best practices and brand standards to develop effective creative assets. Additionally, the role supports the Creative Services team through additional graphic design work and initiatives, as needed.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed below represent the primary duties of this position. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Develop and deliver customer-focused digital creative assets for websites, email marketing, digital advertising, social media, digital signage, online banking education, and other digital channels.
  • Maintains, tracks and communicates the status of all projects from initial assignments through design, revision, layout and pre-launch via communication and workflow software.
  • Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to translate campaign objectives, customer needs, and business goals into effective visual communications.
  • Create original digital designs, graphics, animations, and visual assets that align with Capitol Federal's brand.
  • Apply strong design principles and best practices to layout, typography, color theory, visual hierarchy and accessibility.
  • Prepare and optimize creative assets for various digital platforms, ensuring designs meet technical specifications, performance requirements, accessibility standards, and channel best practices.
  • Utilize available insights, campaign results, behavior data to continuously improve creative effectiveness.
  • Ensure that all marketing materials meet compliance regulations, as required for advertisements.
  • Maintain industry and technical knowledge by attending workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in approved professional societies.
  • Support the Creative Services team with additional design, branding, video, marketing, and production initiatives as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, standardize and scale recurring design processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Digital Design or similar degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of digital graphic design or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • UI/UX and web design experience recommended.

  • Familiarity with Mac, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premier) and Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of Video and Motion Graphics editing and HTML, a plus, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of digital design principles.
  • Knowledge of UX and UI principles with the ability to create intuitive, customer-focused digital experiences.
  • Ability to translate marketing objectives and business goals into compelling visual communications that drive action.

  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels and emerging digital trends.
