Job description

Final Strike Games is looking for a passionate Animation Engineer to join our Vancouver, BC studio and help us build the animation systems for an upcoming multiplayer title. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team member, strong communicator, and well versed with Unreal Engine 5 and the latest animation tools and technology.


Duties

  • Work closely with designers, artists, and animators to "bridge the gap" between Unreal Engine's core technology and building in-game character animations of the highest quality.
  • Monitor performance, and network reliability of animation gameplay systems
  • Develop test cases and integrate with the QA team
  • Self-manage time and responsibilities when given prioritized goals and objectives

Requirements:

  • A 4-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent training.
  • At least 3 years experience as a gameplay or animation engineer
  • A strong understanding of game animation methodologies (foot IK, rigging, motion matching, procedural animation, skinning, blend trees, etc)
  • Have deep and current knowledge of the animation systems in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Familiar with using Claude Code in a game development environment
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++
  • Strong mathematics ability / linear algebra

Basic Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of business tools such as Microsoft office and google docs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language
  • Current eligibility to work in Canada is preferred but International candidates may be considered based on experience + circumstances.
