Argenta, MVS is currently looking to fill an Animal Care Technician role at our Manhattan, KS location.
The Animal Care Technician position is an opportunity for motivated, driven individuals to showcase their ability to multitask and work as a team.
The Animal Care Technician adds value through the following responsibilities:
  • Clean and perform daily chores repeatedly under the direction of senior staff and veterinarians.
  • Collect research data and samples in accordance with study protocols and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Assist veterinarians in observations and procedures and inform veterinarians if abnormalities are observed
  • Promote and maintain the well-being of animals including feeding and basic care
  • Repair, maintain and operate equipment/machinery
  • Perform administrative duties that support the care of animals and site functions
  • Responsible for recording information both timely and accurately
  • Build relationships with key individuals and contributors in the organization and beyond

Animal Care Technician requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience working with animals; large and small
  • Proven experience working with large farm equipment/machinery
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain composure
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as communicate effectively both written and orally
  • Attention to detail and analytically driven
  • Dependability, flexibility and ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Willingness to be on call and in on-call rotation, including weekends
  • Live within a satisfactory distance to assist in on call purposes and procedures
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly
