Job description

Job Title: Marketing and Communications Assistant - ABC

Job Classification: Community Service, Student

Department: Off Campus Community Service

Work Schedule: work site availability is 8-5 Mon-Fri, maximum of 15 hours a week can be done remotely. flexible working hours

Key Components:

This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) students only. 

Do you love photography, video, and telling a good story? Join the Animal Birth Control Clinic team as our Marketing & Communications Assistant! You'll help capture and create photo and video content that supports the clinic's mission, working closely with the Executive Director, Development and Communications Coordinator, and other team members.
You'll shoot, edit, and deliver photos and videos for print and digital marketing, help with community events, and create content that brings the clinic's story to life.
Capture fun, engaging photos and videos inside and outside the clinic, in the community, and at special events
Help keep the clinic's look and feel consistent by following our brand guidelines
Build out our photo and video library for use across print and digital content
Help manage the clinic's social media calendar
Help put together social media content for events, campaigns, and other projects
Acquired Skills: Working in this role, you'll grow your skills in photography/video, communication, project management, attention to detail, adaptability, and customer service - all great additions to your resume!
Required qualifications and experience:
Must have Work-Study awarded through Financial Aid
Must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
Strong writing and speaking skills, with a good eye for detail
Comfortable working solo with instruction, or as part of a team
Friendly, professional attitude and great customer service instincts
Good judgment and discretion
A proactive attitude toward work and problem-solving
Experience with photography/video editing for social media and websites
Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools
Comfortable using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
Organized, dependable, punctual, self-motivated, and flexible
Preferred qualifications and experience:
An interest in any of the following: public health, community service, generational poverty, racial inequality, social justice, human or animal health, community impact, or animal welfare.
Assist with various projects, activities or tasks related to community service
Provide great customer service to everyone you interact with
Help enhance outreach for the greater Waco community
Must be eligible for federal work-study
Follow University policies
Show up on time, ready to go!
