JOB TITLE: 

Animal Science Lab Assistant

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION: 

Animal Science department. 

Job location: Animal Science building.

Pay rate or range: $14.00/hour

JOB PURPOSE: 

Animal Science lab assistant for various labs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • maintain cleanliness in departmental labs
  • maintain equipment in labs
  • assist with research projects if needed

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • assist with departmental projects and other duties

COMPETENCIES: 

  • reliable, responsible and on-time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Currently enrolled student at UW. 

Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.  

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Lab experience. 

EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS APPLICABLE TO CAREERS: 

These responsibilities provide hands-on experience in laboratory safety, equipment maintenance, organization, and research support, preparing students for professional roles in animal science, meat science, food science, and related fields.
