The animal nutrition division is a leading supplier of functional fats, proteins and carbohydrates. The Dairy Technical Manager has the responsibility for providing overall support to the animal nutrition team, tech support to customers and prospects as it relates to nutrition modeling and Actus products, fostering relationships with influencer dairy nutritionists and large dairy accounts, justifying ROI of Actus products, and lastly, be a contributor to research and innovation in the animal nutrition space.
The corporate office is located in Eden Prairie, MN - ideal candidates reside in the central or western US regions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Actively contribute to Actus strategy as it relates to technical support of field nutritional formulation and modelling. Provide support for internal team and customers as it relates to CNCPS-based nutrition models (AMTS and NDS).
  • Assist in overseeing Milk Specialties Global (Actus) field technical strategy and be responsible for direction and implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Provide domestic technical support & innovation for Actus adult cattle product lines.
  • Partner with key stakeholders, including Actus scientific advisory council on updated research and innovation within the Animal Nutrition space.
  • Develop a key influencer list that Actus should target and develop strong relationships with to facilitate MSG business.
  • Assist in the development of new products by working closely with the R&D, Sales, and Marketing teams.
  • Represent the Actus team and deliver presentations at industry and technical meetings.
  • Develop technical articles, brochures, etc. as needed to support the business.
  • Identify new technologies that Actus should focus on.
  • Innovate with key suppliers and stakeholders for new and/or improved product ideas.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition with expertise in dairy nutrition, management, and rumen microbiology
  • 5+ years of experience, with strong industry experience in Animal Nutrition
  • Relationships with key nutritionists and influencers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software applications, NDS and AMTS.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Orientation for detailed work with emphasis on accuracy and completeness.
  • A team player who wants to contribute to a thriving culture.
