Description
Lollypop Farm is hiring a part-time Animal Care Attendant. The Animal Care Attendant's role is to keep the animals clean, fed and enriched throughout the day, and keep work areas clean and well stocked.
Full-time and part-time opportunities available!
Essential Job Duties:
  • Provide compassionate care to all animals at Lollypop Farm
  • Provide enrichment and ensure the well-being of animals through walking, feeding, playing and cleaning
  • Monitor animal behaviors, including eating, drinking, and elimination patterns, to identify potential problems and notify the Klingenstein Veterinary Clinic staff as needed
  • Handle dogs of various temperaments and make recommendations for behavior modification
  • Provide daily animal movement throughout the shelter
  • Assist with laundry, garbage, dish and other shelter duties
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment throughout the facility. Clean and sanitize equipment such as kennels, dishes, toys and leashes
  • Provide customer service as needed
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable state/ federal laws
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations for self and others
  • Perform other duties as requested (ie. Help with processing animals, hold animals for euthanasia etc.)

Requirements
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent education. Animal experience is preferred. Experience with large dogs and animals of various temperaments preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered if aligned with the position.
Skills: Ability to interpret instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Beginner computer skills, ability to learn internal software. Ability to learn to handle animal chip scanner, dishwasher, washer and dryer, medical syringes, cleaning supplies, power washer and floor machine.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position during shift, move throughout the building and move weight up to 50 pounds. Frequently required to communicate with others. Occasionally required to move excessive weight.
